Sunset Tonight

Correctional Centre Sunset Tonight

It was a lovely sunset tonight. I went to Riverside Park and got a few photos but the sunset was even nicer by the time I got to my house so drove down to the old Correctional Centre which is a beautiful piece of land that now the city is trying to figure out what to do with!

They are talking about putting in a subdivision of houses in there and what a disaster that would be!

What a beautiful sunset, a really great photo Pat, with a lovely peaceful atmosphere. I hope the government uses the land well.

Do you remember that song, "Little houses made of ticky-tacky". I always think of that song whenever beautiful land is given over to rows of homes. It would be a real loss to have this beautiful scene become a housing developement, wouldn't it.

Perhaps a park would be better, then more people could enjoy this view.

Hello. In response to your question; you are thinking of the Tunnels of Moose Jaw. There is the Passage to Fortune which is the underground Chinese labourers story and there is The Chicago Connection which is the bootlegging story with alleged conections to Al Capone. Moose Jaw is just less than a hour's drive from Regina. Great tours; lots of history. Thanks for stopping by my site!

That is a gorgeous sunset, and a beautiful view! I think that it would be a perfect spot for a park, also.

this is really a beautiful photo - i love the colors in the sunset sky there... we still haven't seen any kind of snow down our way this year. =) and to answer you question, i haven't had tea in the old bank building yet, but plan to soon and will try to take some photos inside!

Why don't they leave it as a park? Would be the simplest and best use of the area.

Thanks for your continued visits and comments.

Love how the golden colors of the sky are also in the water.

What a beautiful scene. Isn't it interesting how you can set out to take photos and then find, later, when the light has changed, your first idea wasn't the best. This is superb. Sure hope they don't build houses here.

Beautiful photo. The reflection in the water looks like a pool of liquid amber.
