We shall endeavour to post a new photo every day in and around the City of Guelph during the year. We will try to get photos of places around Guelph that you would like to see so please just request this.
Seems this Red Winged Blackbird is saying what many of us are saying here in Guelph where the piles of snow along the roads is over 5 feet high and no where to put the snow from the next storm predicted for tomorrow!!!
Oh, Pat! I hate snow. We had a *little* Wed, and we're expecting a bit on Monday. AUGH. Luckily, when it snows here, it usually doesn't cover the ground.
I don't think our blackbirds spend the winter here ( Rhode Island), but I can't say for sure. We've had a lot of snow, but then it rains & washes it away & it just gets cold - like right now ;-) Thanks for your visit!
Hi Pat, thanks for visiting my blog, and I'm rapt that you went to YouTube to listen to Kev Carmody...thank you.I looked up where Guelph is, and it's near Kitchener i think?? In Jan. 1986, i spent a week in Kitchener with a friend I'd met in the UK...oh, it was SO-O cold.
Nice shot. Of all the birds who come here this is one that doesn't. So there is something not right about my environment for they are not interested. I hope your snow is not so bad as expected.
Great shot of the blackbird. But I think you heard him wrong. I think I heard him saying "You think this snow is going to make me flee south and out of here. Hmmph. I've seen snow higher that this and laughed at it.
Thanks for the comments on my blog yesterday. I grew up in Southern Ontario, so I feel privileged to be living in Southern California where spring has sprung.
Would you like to see YOUR photo of Guelph (or around the area) in this blog? Please email me with your photo (send a large one--around 1200 or more pixels wide) and a short description of where your photo was taken and I'd be happy to post it for you with credits to you.

Splendid blog, with amazingly and photographs, marvellously also your comments.
Great pic. My youngest daughter loves birds. She loved your pic and caption
Five feet and getting higher! No wonder this blackbird is squawking!
You can imagine that the birds are ready - they had to go without shelter.

That's a hoot and a holler to Mother Nature and Old Man Winter. I do hpe they listen to the blackbird.
Pat, the first time I touched and saw snow, I was exhilarated!!
However I guess too much is too much.
Hope spring comes soon!
I can't imagine what its like to have so much snow as we've had none! Love this picture of the bird :)
