Mildmay Cemetery

Oh, life is so busy right now. I thought that when summer would arrive that I'd have the time for all kinds of things.

Well, now with a new puppy, life is just one huge roller coaster! :)

I was up at my daughter's in Formosa, Ontario and just outside Mildmay, the town cemetery is located. I've often walked through this place looking at the inscriptions on the stone, wondering who the person was, who their family is and I always look at the years that are cut into the stones.

At the very back of the cemetery, is a line of very old stone. I'm not sure what to think of this. I wonder how and why they came to exist here at the back. The dates are all late 1800's and early 1900's but were they moved from some other cemetery? Do their family members know?

Do you ever wonder about these things when walking through the cemetery?

yes, I often go through cemeteries because I do genealogy. I love finding out about my family history. I've found out things I thought were really interesting.

I think its fun to feel like we have stepped back in time. There are so many stories behind each marker. Fascinating.
