"Now hear this!
It's time to end this snow!"
It's time to end this snow!"

Seems this Red Winged Blackbird is saying what many of us are saying here in Guelph where the piles of snow along the roads is over 5 feet high and no where to put the snow from the next storm predicted for tomorrow!!!
Do you know we haven't seen any snow at all in South Shields yet!
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of this bird!

Oh, Pat! I hate snow. We had a *little* Wed, and we're expecting a bit on Monday. AUGH. Luckily, when it snows here, it usually doesn't cover the ground.
ReplyDeleteI dont know how birds survive!
ReplyDeleteCool redwing, nice capture! :-D
ReplyDeleteSplendid blog, with amazingly and photographs, marvellously also your comments.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic. My youngest daughter loves birds. She loved your pic and caption
ReplyDeleteFive feet and getting higher! No wonder this blackbird is squawking!
ReplyDeleteYou can imagine that the birds are ready - they had to go without shelter.
ReplyDeleteI don't think our blackbirds spend the winter here ( Rhode Island), but I can't say for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a lot of snow, but then it rains & washes it away & it just gets cold - like right now ;-)
Thanks for your visit!
What's snow...... I have lots of sand????
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, thanks for visiting my blog, and I'm rapt that you went to YouTube to listen to Kev Carmody...thank you.I looked up where Guelph is, and it's near Kitchener i think?? In Jan. 1986, i spent a week in Kitchener with a friend I'd met in the UK...oh, it was SO-O cold.
ReplyDeletethat's a wonderful photo!!
ReplyDeleteA singing bird! Is this bird pretty common?

We have plenty of frost this morning but no snow - thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Pat!
Nice shot. Of all the birds who come here this is one that doesn't. So there is something not right about my environment for they are not interested. I hope your snow is not so bad as expected.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the blackbird. But I think you heard him wrong. I think I heard him saying "You think this snow is going to make me flee south and out of here. Hmmph. I've seen snow higher that this and laughed at it.

That's a hoot and a holler to Mother Nature and Old Man Winter. I do hpe they listen to the blackbird.
ReplyDeletePat, the first time I touched and saw snow, I was exhilarated!!
ReplyDeleteHowever I guess too much is too much.
Hope spring comes soon!
I can't imagine what its like to have so much snow as we've had none! Love this picture of the bird :)
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah! Hear, Hear, Hear!!
ReplyDeletegreat photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on my blog yesterday. I grew up in Southern Ontario, so I feel privileged to be living in Southern California where spring has sprung.
Well, I'm in total agreement with him about this winter! Come on, Spring! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend...
hehehe such a cute bird....
ReplyDeleteGreat bird shot, and fun commentary (as if the bird is speaking). ;)
