I love swans and this year, I was hoping to see some little cygnets riding on mother's back but alas, I haven't seen this yet here in Guelph.
i think swans are one bird that have such elegant persona.....and i love telling this one. do u know why "swan song" is called so ......The expression, Swan Song has its roots in a myth.......a very poignant myth. It was once believed that upon death, the otherwise silent Mute Swan (in reality, it's not a completely silent bird, only less vocal than other swans)would sing one achingly beautiful song just before dying.
Thats a lovely photo. It would have been a nice relfection too if you had caught the swans head in the mirror image!
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer Pat!
il est craquant ce cygne, j'aime beaucoup. je te souhaite un bon weekend
ReplyDeleteit is cracking this swan, I like much. I wish you a good weekend
What a lovely picture, swans are so graceful :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful photo of a very dignified bird. I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am back from my self-imposed vacation.
